pretty uneventful week!

I wanted to do a post, but to be completely honest there has not been much to talk about! This past week we just been hanging around the house working and playing! We did however babysit my friends kids for roughly 12 hours on Wednesday because she had to go to so class for our job. I enlisted my hubby to come with and he of course was more than willing to help! He loves her little girls, and one in particular is IN LOVE with him too. You guys I have some serious competition. Not only is she a Blondie(little fact the hubby used to pretty much only date blonds than married this brunette), but she is skinny, quite sassy and BEAUTIFUL! We had a blast getting a glimpse into the life of not only 4 kids but what it will be like when our boys actually have school to attend and a mouth to talk back and give us their loving opinions ha!

Also, on Friday J took Cayden back home to his moms and dads because his dad needed help landscaping for J's lil bro's upcoming graduation party! So those two left bright and early Friday and me and Mas stayed home and got to do some SERIOUS cuddle time! I love when we split up for a day or so, I really think it is nice for each kid to get alone time with one of us and we switch it up too! The best part about this split for the entire day was the SLEEP! I forgot how fortunate new, first time moms are to "sleep when baby sleeps"! That is such a foreign idea now-a-days. I took full advantage and took a nap from 9-12, and then a nap from 2-5! I ate Oreo's for dinner (in bed) that gave me flash backs to the single days lol! I only had to get up @ 5 to feed little than went back to bed till 9 (that would NEVER happen if Cayden were home!!) he is my morning child, I can feel it in my soul he will never sleep in until he is 15. O well, I really enjoy the early start to the day I feel like I accomplish sooo much more that way.

Anyways, here are a boat load of pictures from this week, I hope you enjoy!
Me and Mason cuddling.
Cayden felt it necessary to bring all his bedding out to the kitchen. whatever.
 J and his gf.

Cayden helping out dad and papaw unload all the rocks around their home. Mamaw bought him this wheel barrel and shovels! She is so good to me!
Everyone have a wonderful weekend! We have two birthdays, the walk for March of dimes (near to my heart now), picking up a quilt from PBK (score) and lost more!

(appropriately titled) I suck @ blogging so here is a play by play in numbers.

1. We are Disney lovers. Exhibit A:

2. We had a playdate with my good friend Amanda and her 4 kids! Cayden loves to play with them (although they are at that age where they think he is going to destroy everything in his path) so they are learning but after a bit they are all playing together.

3. I am re-doing the boys room in a baseball theme! I shared previously that I was beginning the process of making those DIY wall decors and searching for odds and ends and bedding! WELL I was wondering through Target the other day heading back towards the cash wrap and decided to check out the deals in the front of the store...AND...JACKPOT! I got all of these items for 2.50 a piece! Score one for mom! I am feeling so good about my savings that I might go ahead and buy this plaid duvet from PBK Ive had my eye on! I bought 2 of everything! I also got this cute little wall hanging that is a baseball but has a peg to hang something from LOVE! Now I just need to find 2 lamps and the bedding!

4. Mason: He has the biggest grin. He is laughing you guys! We can tickle right under his collar bone and he just gives out the cutest little belly laugh. PREC.

Sleeping just like his big brother and Dada. Don't you just love those shorts. <3

5. Zoo trip with Evie and Target steal: I went to a Target that is a little farther out than my "home" Target because well actually I do not remember why...but boy did I have good timing! See these sweet shirts??? I bought 10 of them in different styles and sizes for 1.89 a piece! Picked up 2 polos for 2.19 a piece! I was beyond stoked. Although I'm kind of mad I should of just bought them all and sold them on Ebay or saved as gifts for others...O well.

The babies on their first date <3. They will be married someday. She is such a pretty baby, dark brown hair and blue eyes....what more could a mother in law ask for?

We stayed at the zoo much longer than normal because we went with friends who do not go like we do...Cayden did so so well and even did a lot of walking! We seriously did not even get out of the parking lot!

Well, that's all I have for now...Hope everyone has a great weekend. I will be working all weekend! Be nice to me L&D!!!

Easter 2012

Every year the holidays become more and more fun! Obviously because it is SO much better to give than receive. Especially when it is with your own children. We took the boys to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. I bought a 5-7, but was not aloud to take cell pictures (so dumb if I am purchasing in my opinion). Cayden loves all the holiday "characters". He cried hysterically when we LEFT Santa, and this time he just wanted to continue talking to the Easter bunny about the little rubber ducky they were giving out to the little kiddos. It was fun. On Friday morning the Easter bunny paid the boys a visit. We usually have to do holidays on a different day because of Jordan's work. We will figure out some catchy reason when they get a little older, till then we just go with it! I did one for Mason but forgot to take a pic oops. It just had a baby bible, and a romper.

Saturday night we dyed eggs. That was a mess! FUN, but a mess. I accidentally dyed pretty much all of fingers in an attempt to help Cayden. He is not very elegant. Actually he is quite clumsy. I hope it is just his age.

On Sunday Jordan went to work. All the stations got together and ate a big Easter feast. He had to do the mac and cheese, so the night before I went to the store and got stuff for the cheesiest southern mac and cheese and also I had to make a sweet potato casserole. After we dropped him off I went through the drive thru @ Dunkin Donuts and got the guys donuts and of course one for myself and one for Cayden. I love doing things for them. It sucks to not be with your family.

We came back to the house, ate breakfast I prepared the sweet potatoes and then dashed off to church. I put Mason in the daycare for the first time. It was kind of hard but I wanted to really pay attention in church and I can not do that with my kids hanging on me. He slept in his car seat the entire time. Didn't budge once. That's my boy! The service was amazing. It was very emotional for me for two reason.
1) I have a better understanding of Easter because I was re-baptized and gave my life to Christ last Easter so watching the new group go through the baptism was heart renching I knew exactly what they were feeling, such a wonderful way to remember Easter!!
2) After we worshiped, the lead singer started to go into prayer and he mentioned anyone who has lost a loved one this past year and related it to Jesus on the cross, I melted. I have not dealt with my Papa's death at all. It happened so fast and not even a week later my son was born. I did not have time to grieve because I was busy thanking God and my papa for getting Mason out safely! Plus there was no funeral. I have never had someone close pass so I have never understood why the funeral was so intense sometimes. But now I do. I did not get to say good bye!! And I Still feel like I have absolutely no closure. Anyways, It was so good to get that cry out. Someone from behind me put their hand on my shoulder and prayed on me and I could feel God shining on me and Papa of course. Each holiday is going to be rough but leaning on my faith is my only option. (sorry for the rambling)

After church we went home I made a quick lunch and I put Cayden down for an early nap. We had a lot to do that day and he would not (OK i wouldn't of made it) through the day with out some kind of nap! In the mean time Sara and I hung out and I finished my casserole. It was a new recipe for me. But it was the best of both worlds, not only was it pretty but it had marshmallow and the yummy nut mixture! I will post a pic!

We left the house at around 2pm, said our good byes to Sara and off to my cousins we went! We ate some yummy food and had a little hunt for our cousin Annabel and Cayden. Truthfully we were prepare for them to find one item and throw in the towel...BOY WERE WE WRONG. THAT BOY IS SO COMPLETELY MY SON. He already has a competitive streak He was an old pro finding all the eggs and goodies in the yard :) Later on we ventured over to my aunts house for her Easter. That's where my Nana and my mom were. We only stayed for maybe half hour. it was cold, cayden was starving because I wouldn't give him anymore candy until he ate something and he refused. O WELL.

I think he thought the car was part of the hunt lol

                                                                 candy-aholic!
                                                               my little bunny
                                                           Four Generations <3

Needless to say, after such a long day we went home, he finally ate something and went straight to bed! But we brushed our teeth extra well because of all the candy lol.
I love the holidays and can not wait for the next one, they just get better and better over time.

week before Easter & a few milestones!!!

We had such a fun packed week! My best friend came into town on Tuesday evening. We just hung out the first night...I made strawberry fields salad and (boxed) jambalaya (pardon my spelling), It was DELIC. Than Sara and I drove down the street to the local soft serve ice cream shop. It is sooo good! But then again I think any small soft serve dive is delic. On Wednesday J let me have a girls day! I mean no kids, no husband...just me remembering what it is like to shop for myself, eat for myself and just be relaxed. Sara is so good at making me remember that I matter too and that I deserve to spend time and money on myself. If you are reading this, thank you Sara someday you will understand what it means to have someone remind you that you are a woman and not just a MOM. :/

After a long day (OK a few hours lol) of outlet shopping(I scored some awesome deals @ Gap Outlet). That is where most of clothes are from now. I can always find such great prices and not compromise and quality. SCORE. We went home, relaxed for a bit, I made my family dinner and then Sara and I met up with our friend Sandra who works @ Gap (convenient I know). They took me to Wild Ginger. Sara has been trying to get me to go for years but it is not a place for kids so It has always been hard to steal me away with out either J being home with the boys, or a sitter so we can all go. But once again it was not only nice to have FUN adult conversations, essentially about nothing important in life BUT the food! OMG GUYS! BEST SUSHI HANDS DOWN. I got eh King of the Ocean it was pricey @ 16 bucks but for a specialty roll I guess that's not bad? IDK. To be completely honest I would have paid double that for how goo it was. YUMM-O. Than of course there was a Busken bakery next door and I could not resist my favorite cookie on earth. I might of bought a whole box of Easter cookies. Possibly :)

The rest of the week was pretty fun. Not as much excitement as Wed. but just having my BFF here is good enough for me.

This week was filled with quite a few milestones too! Our boys are growing up so fast it is amazing.
Cayden:
learned how to put his shoes on  all by himself! This kid is so independent.
learned what "stuck" means, "locked", he knows how to push and pull things and usually says them in the correct context.
began to say more phrases and sentences. Before this past week he would always say please and thank you...but now he says "thank you mama" & thank you dad! it is so cute to listen and notice the little changes in this growing boy!
beginning to cut his 2 yr molars so he is TAD BIT unhappy sometimes. Aint that the understatement of the day.
We found out he loves hard boiled eggs?? & is still OBSESSED with cheese

Mason:
You are blabbering like crazy but only to mom and dad. occasionally others.
Your smile just keeps getting bigger and bigger! You are sleeping through the night on most nights but occasionally wake for a 2-3 am bottle than back to bed you go.
You are finally fitting nicely into 0-3 months
you are eating 7oz every 4 hours or so
and you still sleep like a rock!
Pretty soon you will be blowing raspberries! You are trying so hard to mimic mom and dad.
You had your first ear infection but daddy caught it and we started you on ammoxicillin the next day! You were pretty cranky the first day but you are cool as a cucumber on day 2 of meds. thank god.

Now for some pictures of this past week. Ill post Easter in the next post.
Waiting on the Doc to see Mason.

Sara & Mason

Mason's new pillow pet from Sara. He really enojyed it!
He was digging his new shades :)

exciting new week

On Tuesday evening my BFF will be staying with us for a WEEK!!! This makes me sooo happy! To add even more to my excitement...i am off work all week and now I am also off on Easter. We already have lots of plans including the zoo and some outlet shopping. I still need more new clothes and some summer shoes! Please keep my family in you prayers this week...J will be interviewing for a job that in my opinion he deserves more than anyone. He is working so hard to prepare for his 2 interviews. This would be such a wonderful change for us. We are praying hard that God will see our hard work and determination to make the best of what we are given everyday. It is time for a break!

Anyways, we will be spending the day inside today. I need to clean, do a lot of clothes organization and meal plan for the week! Everyone have a great Monday!!

PS here are some pictures of th boys bc...whats a post with out pics?!
